accelerated college enrollment programs

The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District is excited to continue its successful partnership with Genesee Community College (GCC) through the ACE (Advanced College Experience) Programs, which allow students to earn college credit while still in high school. These programs not only offer a head start on higher education but also provide significant tuition savings for families.

This year, 45 students participated in ACE Programs at Honeoye Falls-Lima High School, earning a total of 168 college credit hours. The tuition for these courses through ACE totaled $12,600, a substantial savings compared to the full costs of tuition at other institutions:

• GCC Tuition & Fees: $36,624

• SUNY 4-Year Tuition: $49,560

• Private University Tuition: $215,040

In total, students and families saved $24,024 compared to GCC’s regular tuition, $36,960 compared to SUNY 4-year tuition, and an impressive $202,440 compared to private university tuition.

Moreover, students who qualify for free or reduced lunch were eligible for additional discounts of 25% to 50% on their ACE tuition, further increasing the accessibility of this incredible opportunity.

The program’s success is due to the hard work and dedication of the faculty, staff, and administrators at Honeoye Falls-Lima High School, who support students as they navigate the challenges of college-level coursework. Beyond the courses completed at the high school, students also have opportunities to earn additional credits through programs like College Today, Career Academies, and the STEM Enrichment Program.

The district is grateful for the continued partnership with GCC, which makes these programs possible, and looks forward to expanding the opportunities for our students in the years to come.
