Manor School Attendance Office
Mrs. Drake

At Manor Intermediate School, we encourage regular attendance and reward both perfect attendance and excellent attendance (no more than two days absent for the year) at our end-of-year award ceremony.

Students are expected to be at school by 8:30 a.m., and finish at 3:00 pm. Please refer to the ABCDE calendar for the annual daily schedule.

Please send all email communication regarding attendance, pick up, or bus changes to the following email address:

In the event of an absence, we request that a parent:

  1. Call the attendance office before 9:30 a.m. at 624-7172 or send an email to  This allows us to account for all students registered at Manor Intermediate School. We take safety very seriously and want to ensure our students are where they are supposed to be, in a safe place with a safe person at school or at home.

  2. Write a note on the day of the child's return to school, including a specific reason for absence and dates of absence. Excuses must be dated and signed by the child's parent or legal guardian.

  3. Excused absences include:

    • Illness

    • Illness or death in family

    • Impassable roads or weather

    • Quarantine

    • Required to be in court

    • Music lessons

    • Remedial health treatment

    • Any absence due to reasons other than the above is unexcused, including early dismissals for personal reasons.

Long absences from school for vacations or other trips must be acknowledged by the building principal. Please send an email to the building principal prior to these extended absences. Please note that they are considered "unexcused" absences by NYS.

Early Dismissal

If a parent needs their child to be excused during the day, the parent must send a written request from home.  Children will be called down to the office to meet parents or guardians. If a last-minute change occurs for early dismissal, please call rather than email your request. This will ensure proper communication to all involved. Parents must come to the attendance office to sign children out of the building.

Picking Up Homework

If parents want to request homework for their child who is absent, please call the office by 10:00 a.m.  Homework should be picked up in the office after 3:00 p.m. unless it is being sent home with another student. Keep in mind that Manor has voicemail (624-7160) between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.

Emergency School Closings

If school opening is delayed or canceled, the district will make an automated call to the primary contact phone number for each student and staff member. The delay or closing will also be posted on the district web site,, and local radio and television stations will be notified. (Please Note: These stations will be notified as soon as the decision is made. However, the on-air announcement will be made according to the radio or television station’s schedule. Please do not call the school.)

If school is to be closed early due to bad weather or other emergency, the district will make an automated call to all contact numbers for each student. Families should have a procedure to follow in the event of an early closing. Please be sure to make prior arrangements for the care of younger children if no adult will be at home during the day.

On days when school is closed due to bad weather or another emergency, all extracurricular and evening activities are also canceled.
